Determination of 20 phenolic compounds in water by gas chromatography with solid phase extraction

Abstract：An analytical method was established for the determination of 20 phenolic compounds in water. HLB column was used to enrich the phenolic substances in water samples with the elution solvent of ethyl acetate, the eluent was concentrated by rotary evaporation, the phenolic compounds were determind by flame ion detector(FID), and quantified by external standard method of chromatographic peak area. The mass concentration of 20 phenolic compounds had a good linear relationship with their corresponding chromatographic peak area in the range of 0.5-10.0 mg/L, the correlation coefficients were more than 0.99, and the detection limits were 0.09-2.88μg/L. The average recoveries of the three spiked samples were 87.0%-103.8%, and the relative standard deviations of the determination results were n 1.48%-4.89%( =5).
